Installing a kitchen is not easy and it’s impossible to know what you don’t know. Getting the cabinets fastened together tightly, custom adjusting of door and drawer faces, using custom fillers appropriately, building up crown, planning and cutting tight miter cuts correctly, ensuring cabinets are level and plumb, custom cabinet front templating for an apron sink, adjusting in the field, all things that are a learned skill. Our team installs every day and can get the job done correctly and timely.

We all know that guy. He is a handyman, not licensed, not insured, not reliable, not good. His work is questionable and not professional level. There is a reason he is not employed on a professional crew and why he is available. Several times we have been hired to un-install and re-install a job by a “guy who was cheaper”. In these cases, we have also had to order replacement pieces as the handyman made irreversible errors, altering and/or damaging the cabinetry. It’s so much more expensive in the long run. Please don’t do it.

This critical finishing touch isn’t as easy as it might seem. Most kitchens use a variety of hardware sizes, so it requires laying out the hardware correctly, drilling correctly for each size, trimming the screws, and then installing securely. Oh, and make sure you are drilling at the same setbacks for each drawer and door! If not, it will catch your eye, every time. If you drill incorrectly for the cabinetry pulls, you must buy a new door or drawer face, which can be expensive. In some lines, it might mean buying a whole new cabinet, just for the one door or drawer face. Ouch!

That depends. If you are installing a “floating floor”, such as laminate or LVT (luxury vinyl tile), the cabinets are installed before the flooring. This is so the flooring can properly expand and contract without the cabinetry hindering this important process. If you don’t do this, you are likely to eventually see buckling of the floor. If you are installing hardwood floors, the cabinets are installed after the flooring is installed.
